17.5: at 220x without filter appears very faint and quasi-stellar, estimate
V = 14.4-15.0.  Confirmed with OIII and a definite small disc is visible
about 5" diameter.  At 412x without filter, visible continuously with
averted.  Located within a shallow arc of five mag 11-13 stars 4.8' ESE of
mag 5.7 SAO 161605!

M1_52  RA 18,34.0 DEC -14,52 MAG 15.6 CSM ? SIZE 7"x6" on 10/21/97. At 134X and 169X, stellar, requiring the O-III filter and averted vision. Good response to the O-III & UHC filters. No response to the H-B filter. At 254X, could sees the PN as a very small, faint, fuzzy patch with averted vision alone but it required the UHC filter to identify it as a PN. Identified the field in the SEC finderchart. Kent Wallace, Navaho Flats, California, 20" f 5.0 reflector.

17.5: this difficult stellar planetary was identified at 220x and OIII
filter.  Visible only 25% of time with averted vision knowing exact
position using a GSC chart.  Not visible without filter at 220x. At 82x
could also momentarily glimpse with OIII filter although more difficult to
view.  Estimate V = 16.0.  Located 1.5' NNE of a mag 12.5 star.  This star
is the middle of three stars equally spaced in a 5' string with a mag 11
star  to the W and a mag 10 star to the E.  A computed visual magnitude of
V = 20 is definitely in error.

K3_7  RA 18,34.2 DEC -02,28 MAG 15.6 CSM ? SIZE 8" on 10/21/97. At 134X, 169X & 254X, stellar, faint, requiring the O-III filter and averted vision. Fair response to the O-III & UHC filters. No response to the H-B filter. Image is best at 254X. Identified the field in the SEC finderchart. Kent Wallace, Navaho Flats, California, 20" f 5.0 reflector.

18 36.5 -19 19
17.5: at 225x a quasi-stellar object is visible just off the E side a mag
11 star (separation 9").  The star forms an isosceles triangle with two mag
10 stars about 4.5' NW and WSW.  At moments the planetary appears stellar,
estimate V = 13.0.  Using an OIII filter appears similar brightness as the
mag 11 star close W.  Good view at 286x; definitely nonstellar and cleanly
resolved from the star.  At times, the central star dominates the small
halo.  Discovered in 1972 by Voroncov-Vel'Jaminov.

V_V3_5  RA 18,36.5 DEC -19,19 MAG 15.2 CSM 13.3 SIZE stellar, on 10/28/97. At 134X, 169X & 254X, stellar, faint, could see with averted vision alone next to a relatively bright star, forming a pair. Needed the O-III filter to identify it as a PN. Good-response to the O-III & UHC filters. No response to the H-B filter. Identified the field in the SEC finderchart. Kent Wallace, Navaho Flats, California, 20" f 5.0 reflector.

M1_55  RA 18,36.6 DEC -21,49 MAG ? CSM 13.9 SIZE stellar, on 07/03/97. Can see as a relatively bright star as shown in the SEC finderchart. Directly visable. No response to any filter. The central star is MAG 13.9 so it is probably hiding the nebula. Kent Wallace, Navaho Flats, California, 20" f 5.0 reflector.

Picked up at 220x using a UHC filter. Appeared fairly faint but easily
visible with direct vision as a small, round disc, ~15" diameter. Also viewed
unfiltered and there is a 15th magnitude star at the north edge. At 280x, the
surface brightness is irregular and the northern rim appears brighter. With
the UHC filter the rim is crisp-edged. The appearance is similar at 380x.

Description: at 145x, small PN, very faint, nebulous since 100x; estimated
diameter about 20", maybe a little elongated N-S; UHC and OIII filters have
a small contrast gain; difficult at 87x but well seen at 145x with averted
vision; very clearly nebulous at 312x; mag8 star at 6'N, wide double
(30"SO) of mag10+11 at 6'SSO.

17.5: at 105x unfiltered a faint, stellar object is seen, estimate V =
13.5-14.0.  Verified with OIII blinking.  At 286x, highly suspected compact
disc although poor seeing.  Located 1.3' S of a mag 11.5 star and a shallow
arc of stars is just NE.  Probable 1st visual sighting on 8/2/86.

K3_16  RA 18,53.0 DEC +12,16 MAG 17.7 CSM ? SIZE 8" on 09/02/99. At 134X & 169X, stellar, not too faint, requiring the O-III filter and averted vision. The PN forms a pair with another faint star when viewed through the O-III filter. Good response to the O-III & UHC filters. No response to the H-B filter. At 254X, can see the PN with averted vision alone as a faint star, requiring the UHC filter to identify it as a PN. The SEC finderchart is way overexposed so could not identify the field. This is a first known visual sighting. Kent Wallace, Navaho Flats, California, 20" f 5.0 reflector.

17.5" (6/5/99): Viewed under very steady seeing at 380x.  The halo is
elongated 4:3 WSW-ENE and clearly brighter along the N and S sides (minor
axis).  The ends of the major axis are clearly "thinner" and slightly fainter
at the following end. The interior has a pale gauzy appearance.  The edge of
the ring has a "wooly" appearance with a strong impression of small irregular
wisps or filaments hinting at the extremely faint outer halo.  The central
star popped in and out of view a few times.

17.5" (7/1/89): extremely faint central star visible for moments at 412x just
E of center.  The central star was held steadily for a few seconds at best
with averted vision.  Forms an unusual pair with the extremely faint galaxy
IC 1296 4' NW.

13": very bright, moderately large, slightly elongated WSW-ENE, high surface
brightness, best example of annularity although interior not dark.  Slightly
fainter at ends of major axis.  Central star not seen.
