M1_44  RA 18,16.3 DEC -27,05 MAG 16.2 CSM ? SIZE 4" on 09/12/96. Tried to find this PN but had no luck. Kent Wallace, Navaho Flats, California, 20" f 5.0 reflector.

17.5: very unusual location as attached at the SE side of mag 8.9 SAO
209938.  Located in a rich star field with a mag 12 star 2.3' WNW and a
faint evenly matched double star 1.9' SSE.  Visible unfiltered but the
glare from the star makes viewing difficult.  OIII filter suppresses star
and the planetary is easy to see.  Appears nonstellar, perhaps 5" diameter,
and estimate mag 14.0.

H1_63  RA 18,16.3 DEC -30,08 MAG 12.9 CSM 14.7 SIZE 7" on 08/12/98. At 254X, can see with averted vision alone as a very faint star very close to a relatively bright star, requiring the UHC filter to identify it as a PN. Good response to the O-III & UHC filters. No response to the H-B filter. Identified the field in the SEC finderchart. The PN is just SW of the relatively bright star. Kent Wallace, Navaho Flats, California, 20" f 5.0 reflector.

nebulous at 144x, confirmed by UHC blinking.  Located 7.2' NW of mag 7.1
SAO 186575 (17 Sagittarii?).  Forms a close double with a mag 11 star 21"

17.5" (8/17/01): Situated within clump of stars at 100x and appeared stellar
at low power.  At 500x, a small unevenly lit 4" disc was easily visible close
ENE [21"] of a mag 11 star. An extremely faint star is just off the SE edge
and an evenly matched 20" pair of mag 11 stars lie 1' SE.  Located 7' NW of a

At 254X, very faint small fuzzy disk, unsteady, requiring the UHC filter and averted vision. Good response to the O-III & UHC filters. No response to the H-B filter. Identified the field in the SEC finderchart. There is a group of very faint stars that are near the PN and appear as a fuzzy patch. one could confuse the fuzy patch for the PN. 17.5: visible without a filter as a mag 15 "star" situated 1' NW of a mag
13.5 pair at 16" oriented E-W.  Weak contrast gain with an OIII filter and
appears quasi-stellar with a very small disc 3"-5".  Located 2.1' ESE of
mag 9.5 SAO 186587.

M2_34  RA 18,17.3 DEC -23,59 MAG 16.2 CSM ? SIZE 13"x6" on 09/23/97.     At 169X, faint, stellar, requiring the O-III filter and averted vision. Good response to the O-III & UHC filters. No response to the H-B filter. At 254X, can see the PN as a very faint, just non-stellar blob with averted vision alone. Needed the UHC filter to identify it as a PN. Identified the field in the SEC finderchart even though the finderchart is crummy. Kent Wallace, Navaho Flats, California, 20" f 5.0 reflector.

13: at 144x without filter, appears as a mag 12-13 stellar object. Very
weak response with filter as dims with OIII filter but appears to have
about a 1/2 magnitude contrast gain with Daystar 300 compared to stars.
Easily takes 360x but still stellar.  Considered a doubtful pn as very low
OIII/Hß ratio.

Sa3_134  RA 18,29.3 DEC -15,08 MAG 16.5 CSM ? SIZE stellar, on 8/18/96. At 254X, very faint, stellar, requiring the O-III filter and averted vision. Couldn't have found the PN without the SEC finderchart. Good response to the O-III & UHC filters. No response to the H-B filter. This is a first known visual sighting.

17.5: identified at 220x as an extremely faint stellar object using OIII
blinking and GSC chart.  Requires averted vision to see with filter and
could not hold continuously.  Without a filter, near the position of the
planetary is a small clump of three faint stars forming a shallow arc but
the planetary does not appears to be visible. Estimate V = 15.5-16.0.
13: not found.

M1_48  RA 18,29.5 DEC -19,06 MAG 15.8 CSM ? SIZE 5" on 09/03/97. At 134X & 169X stellar, requiring the O-III filter and averted vision. Good response to the O-III & UHC filters. No response to the H-B filter. At 254X, can see the PN with averted vision alone but required the UHC filter to identify it as a PN. Identified the field in the SEC finderchart. At 254X the arc of three stars mentioned by steve is visible. Kent Wallace, Navaho Flats, California, 20" f 5.0 reflector.

Pe2_14  RA 18,30.0 DEC -19,41 MAG 16.0 CSM ? SIZE 6"x5" on 10/04/97. At 169X, stellar, requiring the O-III filter and averted vision. Good response to the O-III & UHC filters. No response to the H-B filter. At 254X, can see the PN with averted vision alone as a very faint fuzzy star requiring the UHC filter to identify it as a PN. Identified the field in the SEC finderchart. Kent Wallace, Navaho Flats, California, 20" f 5.0 reflector.

Abell44  RA 18,30.2 DEC -16,45 MAG 15.8 CSM ? SIZE 63"x39" on 07/07/97. At 134X, faint, relatively good sized, unsteady disk, requiring the O-III filter and averted vision. Good response to the O-III filter. Fair response to the UHC filter. No response to the H-B filter. The PN is involved with a relatively bright star. At 169X, the image is better but it still requires the O-III filter and averted vision. The bulk of the PN is east of the relatively bright star. Identified the field in the SEC finderchart. Kent Wallace, Navaho Flats, California, 20" f 5.0 reflector.

17.5: at 140x with OIII filter visible as a faint round disc about 10"
diameter.  Barely visible unfiltered, estimate V = 14.7-15.2. Located 1.9'
SSW of a mag 10 star which is the following in a string with three other
equally spaced mag 12-14 stars oriented WSW-ENE.  A mag 14 star lies 45"
SW.  Can hold steadily at 220x using a OIII filter, about 10" diameter,
also visible unfiltered with averted vision.

Description: at 211x and OIII, medium sized PN, extremely faint even with filter (hard to draw, the dim red light is still too bright); seen with
filter from 74x and without filter from 125x and up; round and homogeneous;
