Over the next three pages, I am very pleased to be able to present the
following sketches by Rich Jakiel, an
accomplished and enthusiastic deep sky observer living in the Atlanta, Georgia area.
Rich has provided, as of December 6, 1998, twenty-eight skillfully detailed sketches of
planetary nebulae he has observed through a 20 inch f/4.5 reflector that is operated in
conjunction with the Atlanta Astronomy Club.
Since each image is only a few kilobytes in size, I have not resized them in
order to place more of them on a page. Take a look at each, and you will see how the
trained observational eye can pick out details and structure which often eludes film and
silicon.
