NGC2440 in the constellation Puppis is one
of the featured planetaries in my gallery of
'Planetaries Of The Week'. Find out more
about this spectacular PNe on that page!
NGC4361 lies in the constellation Corvus
and is also featured in 'Planetaries Of The
Week'. The Hubble Space Telescope has
provided both of these wonderful images.

NGC7662, the Blue Snowball
is a very visible PNe in the
constellation Andromeda. The
colors in these images are due
to imaging with filters
optimized for  wavelengths of
Nitrogen, Oxygen, and Helium.
The angular size of this PNe
is 16 arcseconds.It is
estimated to be 3,500 light
years distant.
NGC6781, a rather large and
somewhat faint PNe in the
constellation Aquila, has an
angular size of just around
106 arcseconds. The distance
to this planetary is estimated
to be 2,600 light-years. All the
images in this panel were
taken by Dr. Bruce Balick
using the 2.1 meter telescope
at the Kitt Peak National Obs.
NGC2610, an even fainter
PNe in the constellation Hydra
is classified as a 'ring' nebula.
A more well known ring nebula
is known as 'M57' in the
constellation Lyra. The
distance to M57 is about
2,000 ly and the distance to
NGC2610 is 5,500 ly. The
magnitudes of each are
9.7 (M57) & 13.6 for N2610.
